A Vanity Fair Affair

Inspiration for large wedding parties. Lovely.

Health and Wellness Soapbox

We've all been there. Whether it's a wedding dress, bridesmaid dress or some other special occasion, we've all at some point tried to lose weight to "look better" in some attire where we're pretty much paraded in front of a crowd. This is, of course, unless you're one of those fast metabolism kind of people--so jealous! lol

No matter the reason, once the decision is made to lose the weight, the first real goal is to make it happen QUICKLY. The problem with this idea is then we jump into fad DIEts and fasts (meant for cleansing, not losing weight). We tend to forget the need to stay healthy in the process and we put our bodies through more work than necessary just to keep us out of starvation mode (which, if you didn't know keeps the weight ON). I'm not making this stuff up, people! Check out this piece pulled from a Newsweek article called "The Incredible Shrinking Bride."

...[R]esearchers were distressed that more than 20 percent of the women they studied used methods they characterized as "extreme," including skipping meals, going on liquid diets, fasting, or taking laxatives or unprescribed diet pills and supplements. A small percentage even started smoking as a weight-loss strategy, while others began vomiting after meals.

Eating right and moderate exercise will get the job done while maintaining your health, which is what's most important. Because if you don't have your health, what do you really have?

Anyway, in light of this, I realized that exercise is one thing, but the bigger issue, I believe people have is then figuring out, what to eat? So, I wanted to share this fun site I ran across the other day called Hungry Girl. It gives you great tips and healthier recipes with side to side comparisons to your everyday foods. Check it out!

Get down and dirty with maternity.

Love it.

Time out...

...step a way from the details. Put the linen choices aside, THE dress will wait, forget deciding on chicken or fish and, by all means, you, yes you...please, step away from the glue gun and the DIY projects and just relax with your significant other this weekend.

The wedding is fun to plan, but a lifetime of love and marriage is really what this is all about. Nourish it. ;-)

More please.

Because I can't help myself.

Fluffy love. A dream of mine, plus another cool color combo.

Not your traditional mood board...

...but it works. These colors are beautiful together. Plus it doubles as interior design inspiration for those decorating their newlywed homes! A newly remodeled kitchen, maybe? hmm... :-)

Speaking of Hazelnut Photography...

(per the post below)...a little more inspiraton from her great work because apparently, bouts are getting more and more creative everyday! And check out these ties. They definitely pull the look together.

The bride's bouquet!

And the bride and groom!

See more amazing details fromt his beautiful wedding here.

Image Inspiration Galore!

Okay, so you know how you read one blog, which leads you to another cool blog and then the next and then...you get the picture. Well, today I did just that. While visting one my favorite blogs, Hazelnut Photography, I came across another cool blog called Inspired By This, which lead me to even more fantabulous (yes, fantabulous!) photographers Gabriel.Ryan.Photographers. and their work below. I just loved their photos and knew they'd perfect inspiration for you all.

I love the positioing in this photo, but secretly, more than that, I love the bride's bold choices for the bridesmaids!

More color/tone inspiration for you along with just being a cool shot.

Modern, yet vintage all in one shot and fun editing. Love the umbrellas. My fav!
